ignition barrel

anyone got any ideas how i can get me ign barrel out. me car got stole and the scum burst the stearing lock, so i cant turn the key to the acc position as it tells me to in the haynes manual. short of cuttin the bracket off im stuck. any ideas?

take off the plastic housing at the back of the steering wheel, this will give you access to the back of the barrel where you can remove it.

the thieves must have been pretty stupid if the stole it by busting the ignition barrel when all they needed to do is break the plastic housing under the steering wheel and pull the switch on the back of the barrel off, stick a screw driver in and turn and your away !

you have to undo/cut it off
cause u have to have it in position 2 to get the barrel out
