XE running problems

Been driving the XE around for a while after sorting out the head and now have developed another problem which is a bit intermittent. Sometimes when idling it will start to rev up on its own kind of reving to 1500rpm then back to idle and up again and back to idle and so on. Also when I try to rev it, it seems to not pick up i.e rev to 1500rpm then try to cut out. Its a bit lumpy on idle too
Any ideas??

nah not yet, where abouts is it??? I've not done one before so not sure what i'm lookin for.

Its right down the back of the engine, theres a hose from it to the sfi box, remove the hose and spray carb cleaner down it.

ahh yeah I know it now, on the right side of the sfi box as you look at it from the front of the car.

No, the tube is on the right of the SFI, then it curves left under the SFI box

The silver cylinder is waht your after, its a bitch to get to!

well i'll get some carb cleaner and spray it down that curved pipe thing and see what happens lol

mine does this and a mates does until it is warm

best to take it off completely mate

ICV sits under the inlet manifold buddyon the backside of the block,bit of a ****er of a job to get too...best bet as stu16vt said is to try and remove it properly but if your not up2 it just try carb cleaner.

wish I had known about this problem while the head was off :roll: haha will have a looksee this weekend

i found it easier to jack the front up and access it from the back off engine

ANDY what isit with yu and breakin cars.. i've given my mums nothin but hammer sinc ei past and its fine lil tappy wen realy hot but meh.. loves a smokey burn out 2 ;) anyway ure always breakin vauxhalls i think yu should move on...
