wiringb loom trouble lights an indicators

after extending my loom i ve got it all working
except the indicators wont work when the lights are on
lights will work on their own an so will the indacors but they wont work both together the lights stay on an instead of indicators working the warning lamp on the dash lights up but doesnt flash .

i ve dissconnected 1 wire at a time from the light switch when the perm live (red wire) is off they work so i tried running a live to the switch
h from the battery but that didnt work

any one have any ideas

is there another way i could wire the indicators up maybe earth them to chassis an run ing live to them instead of going through the loom ?

there must be a way of bypassing the loom
