cool, ive just bought m1155 but are the wrong ones for my calipers, think they must be for a gte or smaller calliper.
how much are the m1144's?

I use mintex M1144's but Stuart is right they don't last long. M1155's are harder but are also a fair bit more expensive.

BD arent used by motorsport folkds.... so no I wouldnt use them.

its either Ferrodo DS2500/3000, Pagid RS's or Mintex 1144/1155/1166
for good reliable stopping :)

I use Ferodo DS2500 and they are the dog's danglies, do need some heat to get them working well tho. DS3000 I'd recommend for heavier more persistant track use, mate races in the VLN endurance series at the 'ring and used 2500's initially but they've switched to 3000's now.

they recomended for value the red stuff brake pads. ive heard that the green stuff are not good, so ive decided to with red stuff as i can get them tomorow as the rally is saterday.
il let you know how they did

Theyre fantastic, they dont make dust at all.

instead, big chunks break off them lol

OE spec minxtex are quite good too for road use, and cheap.

I have used both mintex 1144's and 55's. The 44's are really good for hard road use and the odd bit of track day stuff but are not so good for anything more serious.
Moved onto to the 1155's and noticed a big difference. under really heavy constant use these are brilliant no fad on them which is pretty handy when you have to bring the car down from over a 100mph to 20mph for a hairpin and they are red hot! several people have said they cant believe how good the brakes are running just astra gte calipers and 1155's and drums. if they were not stapped in with 6 point harnesses they said they would be throught the front windscrean. And on the last event i was able to brake later and harder than some other people and they were surprised just how much distance i clawed off them under braking.

1155's for me. Cost for me are about ?70 quid a set but rrp is about ?96 a set.

How are the 55's from cold?
If they are good enough for road use with keenness then ill change to those next..

Generally on the way to the stage start i drive with the brakes on to generate a bit of heat into them, but if you are have been driving a short while and used the brakes a few times that might be enough to generate some heat into them.

Like any brake pads its best to get some heat into them.

used the red stuff pads last night and they worked realy well, much better brakeing i found.
had a little fade in them after doing 115 mph over a roman road towards a controll, think i'd use them again, especially being on a budget, just ?35 bargain thought.
although if i get a bit of extra cash il upgrade to mintex 1144's or 55's ;)
