There was a famous case about 15 years ago. A bloke from cardiff had a fast car with a knackered gearbox. his local garage found an exchange box in london, but the mechanic didn't know london at all, but the customer did. So the customer drove the garage van & towed his car with the mechanic in. They were clocked at about 120mph on the m4. when the police stopped them, the mechanic was a gibbering wreck & the cars brakes were cooked.
