yes there is but can be expensive.
i think u use a 1.2i bottom end with 1.2 carb pistons (longer stroke 1.2 pistons makes it a 1.5)
then use the head off a 1.3 as it has better design.

ste knows exactly wot needs to be done!!

I thought you used a 1.2 block and pistons with a 1.3 crank and con-rods, then the 1.2 head?

(1.2 head is better than the 1.3)

Don't know about other combinations.

with the 1.2i/1.3/1.4/1.4i crank and con rods (all the same) fitted to 1.2 (carbed) pistons and blok you get a 1399cc engine (5 cc more than a normal 1.4) the 1.3 bits are better due to the little ends being the correct size (20mm) as oppesed to the others that are 18mm.

But im not sure if the piston will protude the top of the block since the stroke is 12mm more

courteny are never the best people to ask lol.

Im a Corporate tart :D

I would think that the beauty of doing a hybrid would be that short of a cylinder capacity check, it would be very difficult to prove the 1.2 block was anything more than that.

Ive got a 1400NV engine with a 1600 head though :-), but that actually is a 1400 capacity anyways..

Would the hybrid be as quick or quicker than the normal 1.4sr lump?

right bear with me!
if i went out found a 1.4sr engine for say ?100,
swaped - cam for a high lift jobbie, added a webber carb, 4-branch manifold + system, and had the head gas flowed, would this be a better option than building one from scratch?
Sorry to ask so many questions!
