i have put a new headgasket on my nova. its a 1300 SR block with 1200 head.. i have got my SR inlet manifold and carb on, i have ckecked for a spark and we are getting any amount of spark so its not that. i think it could be the fuel lines?

the pics are not the best but this is how they are plumbed up just now? any other suggestions? anything i could of forgot? cheers, Greg

are you geting fuel, compression, spark? make sure youv pput the fuel pump on the right way!! try a trickle of petrol in the top of the carb to get it fired up, sometimes it just needs it to prime it a bit and all is fine, was in my case anyway!

the fuel pipes dont look while secure put a jubilee clip round them to tighten them they could be lifting air athere and not getting any fuel up

Are you getting a spark on all 4?
The pump only has an inlet and outlet, you cant really get it wrong.
Remove the hose going to the carb and turn the engine over with, see if fuel comes out the hose.

i am getting a spark on the 3 i have checked. even if i am not getting a spark on the last one i have not checked, the car should fire up. i have secured all the pipes this morning, checked everything and i cant see whats wrong.

i need to set the timing as its out slightly but this should still make the car run surely?

also i poured a bit of petrol in the top of the carb and still not firing. its turning over but as if there is no spark... there is though. my battery has went flat now as i had a light plugged on it and trying to start it for ages so, i am charging that at the moment and will have another look later.

Align the timing mark on the bottom pully, then align the dizzy with its arrow/slot pointing to the rotor arm. That will get the timing "ok"

If you have a spark, its either no compression, or fuel.

Have you checked for a spark with a plug out of the engine attatched to the leads and earthed to the engine?
As said above, check fuel, compression, timing.

does the engine turn over freely or slowly? cant see it not having compression after a head gasket, so if youv got spark it must be your fuel or timing!
