Irmscher Inlet to E16SE head

Can the Irmscher inlet be 'opened' up to match the round ports? I haven't had chance to put a new inlet gasket on the head, open that, then offer it to the inlet to see the differnece.

Just would like to know if it is possible, been done successfully before etc?

The irmscher(cathedral port) inlets are larger than e16se round port ones.
So it would need metal adding to make it into a round shape.

I went to a engine engineering works, and the guy there said it wouldn't be possible, without about ?300 worth of work.

You can make a round port, catheral quite easily. But it seems not the other way round.

And if you fitted the irmy inlet to a se head, the bottom of the port will make a big "step", which would loose quite a bit of power.
