hello everyone

i have got a 1.2 carb nova and i was on private roads and it was sayin i was doin 120mph at 6500rpm and i no that cant be rite is there anyway of sorting it

in 4th because it was a 4 speed gearbox and mods wise it has got a webber carb on it and ashley 4-1 manifold and the system to go with it

Hmm, thats probably 110ish mph, true speed.
Depending on box ratio/fd.

intrested bud not highjacking your thread or anything but my 1.0 litre vauxhall nova 4 speed reakons i can do 50 mph in 2nd gear (4 speedgearbox) is this true because i find it quite hard to belive myself lol.

Yeah.

You could do 50mph in first gear with enough revs(dont try it lol)

borrow a road angel or simillar GPS device that tells you your speed. This will give you a more accurate reading on your speed. There isnt really much you can do about the misreading speedos iirc, its just cave man technology lol

well it isnt all bout my top end i was doin 20 n it felt like i was onli doin bout 10 mph tops in 2nd n i dunno but puss puss i have hit 70 in second by the speedo

p.s sorry but my tires are 195/50/15

Try replacing the plastic speedo drive that the cable screws into. I think when they wear the speedo gets worse!

At least it's over estimating your speed, if it was the other way it could cause some problems. Imagine you got flashed going through a speed camera and your speed was reading 30mph.

GPS is only 100% accurate on the flat, so dont try using a hill, the GPS will under read your speed lol

could i of bent the speedo cable and that why it is out becuase i have put new dials in
