Wanted E.C.U!!!!!

lo guys, in urgent need of a GSI E.C.U, been told these are rare as fook and without it my little car aint going no where, cars a 1992 Nova GSI 1.6 8v, please someone have on knocking about !!!!

Just to help you in tracking it down, it should be a Siemens ECU (not Bosch) if you can confirm the engine code it should be E16SE

Or if its C16SE then they are a bit rare.

Forgive me for being an idiot, because the cars in the garage at the moment i couldnt tell you wot the engine code is, however the service book does state

Engine Number : 02P62102, does this look right ??

thanks for the replies all ^^ i still dont know the part code cuz they couldnt tell me in the garage, pratts, but apprently theyve managed to find one so hopefully this will end the matter.... i dont have much faith giving they couldnt even tell me which E.C.U it is so ill bare you guys in mind. One more question, is the GSI E.C.U mappable ?

the Bosch ECU is chippable, at ?299 from superchips (only gets 6bhp), but Seimens ECU is not catered for as its a sealed unit

My money is on it being a Siemens one. ;)

its not the engine code that matters (there were 2 types of ecu fitted to the e16se)
this is a later spec bosch item fitted to late gtes and gsis so likely to be yours

if its a very late gsi (c16se) then the ecu will be behind the glove box and there will be no airflow meter, but thats highly unlikely to be yours as they were very late (ie 93k regs etc)

02P.... engine nos will be a Siemens one IMO is what I was saying. Its a late E16SE engine.

Theres a different number of pins to each loom/ECU on Siemens or Bosch types.
