over heating problem, urgent!

since i changed the oil, the car is overheating, the hoses are bulging and the expansion tank is building up serious pressure, its an old 1.4 sr engine, any ideas what it could be? ive got a rally at the end of the month so i need it sorted asap!
ive changed the water pum p and thermostat ages ago, so theyr out of the question.
any help please

Possible Big Air Lock ?

mines done the same thing twice, god knows what it is, temp doesnt go over half way though, just get a cloud of grey ail smelling smoke out the back end?

hmm i was thinking it was an air lock, il flush the cooling system later and see if it resolves itself.

Why would you have an airlock after changing the oil.

i know, i think i put too much oil in to start with, causing higher compresion maybe
no idea, i hate engines, much rather drive than work on my car, even tho im under it more than im in it
