brace bar?

hi, i have changed my mk2 nova to a mk1 and the only way to get the mk1 SR bumper to fit was by removing the black metal bar that bolts on infront of the radiator/crossmember...

do i need a different brace bar or something to make it fit properly?

No but you need different mounts (the two little bars that go inside your chassis legs) as they are shorter on a mk1 failing that just make some.
