Im totally baffled,my sr seems to start 1st flick of the key sometimes and then other times takes ages to start??? Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated:thumb:

Good old pierburg auto choke perhaps? Any issues whilst driving? Buckarooing, power loss etc?

my 1.4 used to do the same thing if it was not used for a day or so the fuel used to run out of the pump and it took a couple of turns of the key to get it started.

well they get sticky, so maybe its not opening when cold sometimes, rather than sticking open which gives the other probs.

Just a thought.

Tookies suggestion is also possible. TBH, id bin the carb for a 32/34, my SR runs so much better now on the weber.

Ah i would bin and opt for 32/34 for it but im jobless,skint need to buy house.Girlfriend with baby on way so..............prob just have to put up with it!!

Do they bolt straight on? ive heard they need modifying?? Thanks mate

You'll need the adaptor plate for the 1.3 inlet manifold. Other than that no, they bolt straight on. Mines on a 1.3 round port inlet manifold bolted to the square port head lol. As you can tell, i couldt give a crap about maximum efficiency on that car.

I am. The SR is just a runabout and the mrs is using it to learn in.. Plus its mint, and it will get a valver when shes finished with it lol
