lol
yer i know which one ya talking about now! cheers rich, might just give there a try actually
If its a L-reg corsa with a c20let you will need a cat.
As L-reg is after August 1992, and C20LET(C=Cat emissions)
Find a friendly mot tester and persuade him, say the engine was out of a early 1992 Cally turbo or something lol
Its harder to prove the engine is older than it is to prove the car is older (as the car reg kinda gives it away lol)
You don't NEED a catalytic converter to pass the MOT, however to pass the Basic Emissions Test which your car will probably get put through you'll need to have uber-low emissions - which means having the cat on the exhaust, or leaning the engine right out so it runs like a bag of nails lol
Chucking a cat on would be the simplest option, but I'd have thought sticking a 1.2i cat onto a LET engine isn't going to be good? Or are they mostly universal items?
1.2i cat is tiny and will strangle the engine yeah, but be ok for mot?
Just wip it off after,Lol.

look for a not so bigly named garage and just ask them if theylll pas it, as long as everything else is right youll be rite, i once ahd a nova with two fooked wheel bearings, cracked windscreen, dodgy brakes and two bold tyres (but the tyres where gettin done after the mot cause it was next door) and for them to pass it cost me 60quid, fixed it all afterwards like, but they are the dodgiest garage in west!
