my interior heater fan doesnt work....any common probs with them?? easy fix or time consuming fix????

i dont think mine works on number 1 but 2 and 3 are alright also none of the lights work do i just need to replace the bulbs or is the whole thing?

if it only fails on speed setting 1 its the resistor block burnt out - replace that

the bulbs blow anyway - new bulb required

my bearings in da fan are noisy :-)

Its probably the resister on the fan that controls the speeds settings, if this is gone or if the wires have become badly corroded. so if you change the resister it will work. It is also possible that it has seized. (or it could be as simple as a fuse ;)

the ppl with nothing on NO. 1 & 2 have you just done a Mk2 dash swap?? if so some of your wires are the wrong way round at the back of the switch

The reson number one and two do not work is becasue the resistor has gone!!!!!!!!!!!
One and two go thought the resistor on the fan unit to restricted the current to the fan but three is not restricted so it works!
Go to the scrap yard take off the plastic cover to the heater fan and unclip the resistor off the side off it i bet you it will work. :d
