handbrake light illuminating while driving?

hey guys, in my corsa today ive noticed that the handbrake light has been coming on and off and flickering then staying on for a few minutes then going out again. :confused:

this is the first time it has done this and it is very confusing, the handbrake is released fully (at the handbrake unit anyway - could the cable need changing?)

The brake fluid is full and is not leaking.

The discs and pads do need changing but the light wouldnt come on for that. Could the brake fluid need changing, bleeding and a new handbrake cable need fitting?

it will either be a dodgy contact on the handbrake lever, dodgy switch on the m/c or dodgy wiring.

Bad earth IMO if the above checks are OK.

could that just come up though? ive had the car a year and used daily and its never done it before ? Ill check the switch and the contact. :)
