it may sound a bit dumb but how can i tell the different between a 1.4 sr engine or a 2.0 8v because my mat ehas jus brought one and it seems way to fast for a 1.4

If it's a 2.0 i think they say it on the rocker cover or whatever it is called.

uuuuuuummmmmmm engine code on the block i guess 2.0 will either be c20ne or 20seh dont know about the 1.4 codes

Well, its Entirely different.
2.0 8v is injected so has injectors and a big idle valve on the top of the inlet, it also has a plenum.

1.4sr engine just has a carb with an airbox?

is it possible you have a 1.8 8v ?? ^^^ lol didnt even think about that

i will definatly get a picture of it. i didnt even think of a 1.8 8v but im still saying it is too fast to be becuase my 1.4sri was so slow compaired to this

ill have a look at the engine tomorrow as the car is not sat on my drive any more but ill get a photo as well
