i am curious as to what are the figures like and state of tune for the 1300 head 1400 bottom half combination..my setup is as follows

1300cc stock head
1400cc stock bottom half (came from a yr 2k corsa b)
irmsher intake manifold
40mm webber carbs (2)
aftermarket cam (no idea what degree)

its mated to a quaife close ratio box (hav lsd but not installed)

what improvements can i make to this setup ie. port & polish etc..
what numbers (whp figures) have people gotten from similar setups?

ps i am in jamaica cant jus go out and get parts lol

^^ Agreed, headwork would see it a little over 100bhp. Max bhp possible N/A wise would probably be 120bhp

Sounds like a nice usable spec you have there. As Tom says 120ish is possible but will be shifting the power-band higher with lumpier cams which will make it a pig to drive day to day.

Thanks, been thinking about headwork..my bro told me that the vaux cavalier 1600cc 8v head has some larger ports, is this so and is it a good swap (well if i can locate one)

I agree at 120 ish iam seeing 113 bhp poss abit more or abit less;) iam running a nova gte 1600 head on my 1400 but your gonna want to skim the bigger head to get the right compresion your best bet is a 1400 sri head. But the argument on that one is different people say different stuff, i was told the 1600 gte and the 1400 sri are identical apart from the compression. Then someone told me the 1600 had bigger valves etc, i just ported polished and skimmed my 1600 gte head and had it put on and it runs sweet:thumb:
