Got a hold of a redtop for me nova. The guy sold it to me as a redtop with a coscast head. I bought it as it was cheap and ran but didnt check to see if it was or it wasnt.

run your fingers under the exhaust ports on the head between 2and 3 iirc, should be able to feel it..

The later coscasts also had the Core plug, so the above pic aint the best... take a pic of the dissy side of the head, where the water pipe is...
also it dosent really fcuking matter lol.

ks heads are a little weaker, thats all. en the only crack between the coolant and oil channel if you start revving it with a cold engine.
btw, a fixed KS is stronger than a coscast.
also it dosent really fcuking matter lol.
Amenlol
As said, it doesn't matter and at the going rate for one, i'm not going to bother!
Even a few coscast heads have gone pourous (sp)
It doesnt REALLY matter, but I have has about 4 XE's and all the KS heads have gone 'porous'...
I am quite annoyed about this (my missus Corsa is now showing signs too) so I would much prefer a coscast, althoughI agree that the prices are a bit silly...
just do the repair and all will be fine...

Anyone ever seen H1 GTE? That has a modified oil gallery on it and has done for a long while without further problems. It has been made into an external line, using some stainless braided hose with banjo fittings at each end.
