its not a nova but please try and help!! (i need it fixed before tuesday)

its not been a good day, we welded are new trailer up and got the car off then it wouldnt come back off as a hook was hanking..anyway we got the grinder out and sorted that then when i got in the car to reverse off the trailer she cut out. i tried firing her up again and she just turned over and over. we checked there was a spark (there was), then the fuel pump and its getting any amount of fuel into the fuel rail, we were getting power in the injectors. so we took every plug off and cleaned it with contact cleaner, and we did every connection in the engine bay... then we checked the ecu and plugs there inside the car.. they were fine. at this point we were annoyed, so my dad attached the tow rope onto the car from his van and towed me a few metres and she bump started no problem.. and after that she ran spot on..

so its good it went, but why is it cutting out for no reason?
why is it not going to start after it cuts out?
also the engine managment light is on and staying on..
the fuel pump works!

any ideas?

my dad reckons its maybe a flywheel sensor or something like that?

cheers,
Greg

Has it got the coil built into the distributor? If so, or to find out, remove the cap and you'll see it in there, they suffer with them not making a true contact to the cap.
