40s will all but strangle the XE, at least 45's...

Standard LET vs 45'd XE will be about 200ish BHP Vs 180ish BHP

40s will be "ok" until you get to higher revs.

putting them on an xe is like straping a pillow across your face and running a marathon take the pillow away you will do it alot faster

40s are ok on a xe, with big chokes.
And will give better low end power/torque.

They will only strangle the engine at 6/7k rpm+

Id have a let over carbs ANYDAY.

sell the let and go for spunking the money on 45's some other goodie's its only because im not really into turbo's i prefer n/a power your choice

45s would be better and would give more room for further mods in the future some would argue that 50s are over kill but on the same note anything over 300bhp is pointless in a front wheel drive car as once you break that sort of power mark putting the power down is a big issue but its becoming more and more common place to see 300 + motors

thanks for info. will 45s give you better acceleration then a let ?

Adam

No.
Let has more power and a shed load more torque.
