i got a 1.4sr and want more poke without too much fuss/cash
to get as gte lump to run on a carb ie 32/34 weber what needs to be done. does it have a dizzy? what inlet manifold do u use?
or does any bits off the 1.6 sit on the 1.4 to give it more go? can u use the 1.6 bottom end on the 1.4 or is the 1.6 a bigger lump altogether? are the 1.6 pistons larger or is it the stroke thats longer?
advise please

the easiest thing would probably be to go somewhere like just novas for a 1.6 conversion:
Convert your Nova into a GTE/GSI for an all inclusive drive in/drive out 48 hour conversion which includes supplying and fitting.
Parts supplied: -
GTE/GSI engine complete
Gearbox F13
GTE/GSI Drive Shafts
Injection Tank
Injection Fuel Pump and Lines
Injection Loom, ECU and Coil
Our Conversion: -
Removal of old engine and gearbox
Engine fitted, wired up and piped up to start up
Drive out
Price: - Conversion Price is ?595 yes you read it right that is an all inclusive price of just ?595
Optional extras: -
Front 16v brakes supplied and fitted
Rear beam axle with 16v disc brakes supplied and fitted
S/S GTE full exhaust system

if u want to go down that route it would save a lot of hassle and at least youd have someone to go back to if anything went wrong!

Take a look in Haynes about the 1.6 vs 1.4 bore dimensions. Check articles section on here.
Its just not easy to get more poke with out fuss and cash I'm afraid.
