Hi guys! I want to get an alarm but wat does it all mean? Wats cat 1 2 3etc and toad. Wat do i need? Wats da defference?

Cat 1 is the best. Toad is a manufacture. Best alarm manufacture I would say are Clifford but thats just opinion. Your best off asking advice from a specialist.

cat 1,2,3 gives different level of discounts from insurance companies.
cat1- alarm/immobilizers
cat2 -immobilizers
cat3- physical security (stoplock etc)

to get the discount from insurance for the cat, 1, 2, 3 they have to be fitted by an insurance approved fitter.

but with cliffors you have far greater upgradability. tilt sensors intelistart intellivoice, 3rd wireless immobiliser. good quality stuff is clifford. the carbon firbe effect remotes are pretty trick as well

Yes, all the optional toyz. More to go wrong. My Clifford was a ?400 bag of bolts. Never worked properly for more than 2 weeks at a time. After buying it the suppliers told me that they are terrible for faults! U can guess what i said to them after that! X-(

in the last post on alarms i said my clifford alarm hadnt played up for a couple of months . U can guess what happened last night . Ive now got to have a second replacement siren fitted , the last one was only five months old.It took all day on the phone talking to Jason the arrogant t**t in customer services to get one free of charge.Take it from me clifford alarms are the biggest waste of money going . If it gives me any more greif im having it taken out and am going to take it back to clifford and tell them what they can do with it.
BUY A TOAD THEY ARE MADE BY THE SAME PEOPLE AND ARE FAR BETTER

i got toad, never failed me! but if u got clifford sorta money buy CODE! code alarms r prob best for features! lot better than clifford as they do what clifford does and more realiable!!! but if features isn't what ur after and just wanna protect ur car go for toad!

why go slow if u can go fast! :-)

All the clifford are good but as most people get them, then the theif's learn how to get round them am as most common, I know countless people who have had there's nicked with clifford stuff on bord!some where the ?1200 ones with smoke screen thing in them!get a good Toad/autowatch sigma!still got all the feature and less common!
