what can be done to bring th eemissions down ?? carbon monoxide readings are nearly double what they should be after the 2nd fast idle.

also the lamdba reading is outside specific limits - could this be a buggered lamdba ??

Could well be a knackered lambda sensor.

You can make it run a bit lean and/or idle slower if you're having difficulties at the MOT and your management allows it.
