It wont happen, try and find somewhere legally that will let that amount of cars in one place at the same time, Brunters might still but you would be paying some serious cash for the privilege and also the noise Police are rather sh*t hot there now so 8/10 novas wont get as far as the gate :p

What could be done is something similar to a jap meet I once went to,
They held it at a pub near Brighton, Bolney I believe it was, people came from everywhere in the UK for it, we probably had 50+ cars at Stansted and met up with a few hundred more at Thurrock, I have never seen so many nice cars in one place before, especially considering this was a internet non magazine organized event. Some serious speeds were reached on the M25 :thumb:
If you want to do it with timing gear then you will have to get a magazine interested, which no doubt TV would be but as mentioned if the numbers dont show then someone still has to foot the bill and for that reason I cant see it happening.

Thats 2 groups of novas and possibly no more than 40 motors there off both sites lol

I'm on about a specific group of novas, if your relying on lets say 150 different types of vauxhalls to turn up then it should be such a problem, if its just novas then its likely that a large amount wont show.
Same goes with any type of car.
PVS was a Vauxhall day, take away everything else and there would of been a bloody lot of novas there but it IS pv and people to make sure they make it to that show.
i guestimate not even 150 nova's at PV tbh

If this happened it would be amazing & real good for the way novas are heading, getting rid of the chavvy image and being a more respected car that normally has some serious power. I think if mag attendance was there then this would revive novas & there would be loads n loads more mint ones around! I mean how many times do you see a nova in a mag, to see 150 would be f*****g great!
think outside the box chap, ok loads of enthusiats own nova's, but also loads of old poeple and chav that dont give a monkeys about them.

as far as im aware you have to pay for pod for the day. so say if it did all get organized there would be some sort of tickert scheme available to cover cost.
im sure it could be organized, im sure magas would be interested as its 25th anniversary as said.

This should be covered as our national day as mentioned, once we have the member side of things running (very soon now) we will be able to see how quickly this venture gets off the ground and give us an idea of how things are going to come into play.
I love the idea but what people have to remember is now we are going official, the main thing is its the members and input that really bring a club together and make things happen.
oh yes id definetly be there as it would indeed be a top weekend. Lets just hope everyone else shares the same enthusiasm (<sp?)

This was a great day - never seen so many of the damn things in one place.
Not seen many posts from people who were there! I was!! Breeze blue SRi on the 2nd row behind the white SR.
There were 2 blokes holding fly's legs while he took the pics, it looks like we were all stood still but the whole lot is doing around 30mph - nuts really.
Beasty is on there too, couple across to the left with a pink hammer hanging off it.
Rick - yours is way down at the rear, Gary was pissed off with all the stone chips if I remember lol

I think that as long as people got the notice, as lets face it, we don’t all have money on tap :( , it would be a great day. As it is the 25th anniversary too it would get the mags interested and would help things along. To the majority of nova owners its there pride and joy, for the ones that race around I think that’s its just there way of showing it off as there so happy with it.

If everyone who went to a meet was affiliated to PNG then they could display there number on the car and if in the event of members "dicking about" then they could be disowned, thrown off the site and dismembered (look it up) ;) .

Technically, 2 of my cars were there. I was in a white GSI on white compomotives, ran the 6th best 1600 time on the day! 16.89 with 81mph terminal. 23rd (?) on the published list??? IF it's possible, I think Shakespeare Raceway sounds a good bet. Pretty central, Santa Pod is 150 miles away for us nw/manchester people.....
What about PNG members pay ?15 instead of a tenner? ?5 goes towards the cost of hiring somewhere? I bet Max Power/redline/fastcar would be interested as well? After all, they need to sell magazines!

there was loads at pvs(70 odd i would say) theres been mag featured novas ive not seen on web sites, over novas on different forums an god knows how many other un-known novas out there.

Itll never be as big as back then, we can always try something whether book a day at shakespeare raceway or book brunters, all depends if people will turn up.

If its pre-paid surely it doesnt matter who does or doesnt turn up? Not good for numbers I know.
If it was open to euro Nova enthusiasts it might draw in a load of the foreigners. Do it the week either side of Billing & it would be worthwhile them coming over for 2 shows over 9 days.
Shakespeare RW would be ideal IMO too.
Just looked it up, seems like the ideal location.

Btw the GTE on 17" Leagues in the centre of the feature was owned by a guy I know (Simon Denman). He still has a Nova amongst about 30 other cars.

I'd like to make a suggestion which has transformed the way our club (SW-CC) organises events. Get all the info sorted, date, location, price the lot THEN post up a new thread with a Paypal button for the money (to go to the clubs account).
This way everyone is committed and pays up straight away when they are keen, rather than say they'll come and then forget about it. I'm not saying those in the list won't cough up, but it just makes life a lot easier for the organisers, and they know exactly how much money is available from day 1. Like I said, it has transformed the way we do things, and we use it from everything from Rolling Road and Track day deposits, to Trax tickets. We regularly get over 60 people from South Wales to Trax each year this way. People pay up, and we then add their name to a confirmed list. We even add the Paypal fees on to net the amount we want. If a similar system was introduced on this thread for example, you'd already have ?150 sitting in the bank ready to pay deposits etc :)
Beef, this is all being sorted behind the scenes already. As said the idea is fantastic. The club account is almost ready to accept members and sorting events like this, but in the same sense it will be a club feature as we will probably use it as our national day as suggested by others and myself earlier in the thread. Couldnt ask of a better way to get everyone together in one place :D . We just ask abit of patience whilst we finalise the last few niggles :cool:
Rick has done an awesome job of getting this kick started :thumb: and its the sort of input the club will require to help make the PNG as good as we hope it will become again.

This event MUST happen, it would be a classic season closer or opener depending on what numbers we get etc.
As the club will plough all funds raised back into organising events such as this and discounted trackdays etc the secondary payment may not be essential, or at worst not the full ten pound. Alas many on the "i'll pay twice list" havent taken up the basic membership so only time will tell whether this can happen sooner rather than later.
This thread will be restarted within the club section with hopefully a few more details and idea's will get rolled into it, to try and clarify what people require/prefer to make it as easy for everyone (obviously it is ricks baby and we must not forget that!!).
Once the ball is rolling we will look into getting some coverage to sign and seal the days events :thumb:
How do i pay for membership anyway? Is there new window stickers avail? what about the keyrings etc? Memb card????
everything you have listed is on its way to us as we type this, i have personally bunged a few hundred quid towards this to make sure it happened on time!!!!!
As regards memberships, if you look at the top of this forum there is a sticky saying 'memberships open' ;) all the details are on page one of that thread :thumb:

As Dan said, we cant put an exact date on it due to memberships filling up / how much work there is still to do, plus, as you said, cars still not ready. I think later rather than sooner is the best bet to make sure everyone has plenty of notice.

If suffcient numbers are obtained then something like the escort photo will be done, otherwise its just going to be a V busy track event... still cool though

It wont happen, try and find somewhere legally that will let that amount of cars in one place at the same time, Brunters might still but you would be paying some serious cash for the privilege and also the noise Police are rather sh*t hot there now so 8/10 novas wont get as far as the gate :p

ye but once theres a date and location then people can start getting the word around, on migweb/cs/etc. i know of plenty of novas around my way who be willing to go. i cant see anything better than having over 100 novas convoying down a motorway and all meeting up in one place, so im sure others will think the same and turn up.
Its really not that simple, I know of about 10 novas, however getting them all there on that day could prove tricky as every other weekend most of these cars are being dragged or tracked and obviously with that you get the occasional problem, which typically will be the same day we do the feature.

That mate is how it should be done, maybe not that much but it HAS to cover the cost of hiring a venue for the day.

IMO If and when the date is set it should be 12 months ahead of time.
IF you REALLY want the real old skool novas there (I know of few that hav'nt seen daylight for many years) then theres needs to be lots of advance warning, media coverage ect to make it happen.
Someone like TV needs to take control tho, they have money and the contacts that could make it work.
