Be it Tarmac or full on forest rallying.

I'd like to see some pics of proper rally Novas.
Please try to keep rally look Novas to a minimum.

Post away!

Been in a class-winning 1.3 16V Nova Rally Car with proflex suspension and a Quaife Gearbox and Diff and the rest...

Goes like s*it off a shovel but has seen better days -- I have some pics of it somewhere on tar and gravel -- I'll look them out!

Nice little Nova:)

Rally cars seldom do look 'like much'(as i'm sure you know) but they are built for a purpose and have to be strong. Rally cars are amongst the best prepared cars I have seen:thumb:

Yeah the engine bay in that one and the boot and turrets etc are all braced up like no-ones buisness :)

Needs some attention to make it look good though :)

will try and get some of mine up too.

Was out testing at kames and got the car pretty well set up for next week except for one thing!!!?????

Some one for got the bonnet pins!!!!!
thank god it only bent the hinges and edge of the bonnet and not the windscreen as well!!
Mechanic involved now duly booted off team....lol

lmao! you dont build a rally to look good! You build if for a purpose :thumb: yes ok the works cars look the danglies, but they budget in the region ?1.5m to build a couple lol so they can afford to look nice, as they have a multi million pound company image to uphold lol

But good presentation goes a long way with the scruitneers as it generally tells them that the car is well looked after and maintaned to a high standard.

thats very true, and if you own a rally car preperation company, well then its your image at stake

As for the guys and girls that build them at home tho, its not really an issue tbh

Again i have to argue that point. yes some people do take that is a working car but being well presented makes it easier to work on the car as its not muddy or dirty. it can help gain sponsors to help pay for your rallying and it just looks a whole lot better.
I have been there where driver's did not spent the time prepping their cars properly and things have gone wrong or broke.
My codriver helps build and run rally cars and i now know what level i have had to take things. yes its a pain in the bum and it costs but it can save you some much time and money i the long run and thats got to be better.
I have just spent several weeks prepping my car and about ?600 quid but but i feel the car is better for it. where as before i would not have bothered but it does make a big difference.
This imho having been there.

You should have come over and said hello.

Very difficult to judge how quick you are from the inside.
A wee bit more work before the weekend's rally but a lot happier than i was before.
Did you get any pic's by the way??

Well it had a clean for that event there but its now coming off the road for a few months as its now going to have some more work done on it. Mainly the engine.
Engine will get
Clean up
New pistons
Piston rings
Bore
Shells
Cam kit
Vernier pulley
Port and polish
Matched inlet and exhaust manifolds
and twin 40's

So hoping around the mid 130bhp:):)
