Hi all!

I need to get a pair of Toyo Proxes for the next time I go to Santa Pod, and
need some advice on which size to choose.

I will be using a 15" rim.

My options are:

- 195/50/15
- 195/55/15
- 205/50/15

Any opinions on which will offer the best grip when running low tyre pressures?

Many thanks.

Rob.

195/50/15

Choice is for fitment rather than grip levels. Youll cause yourself nasty rubbing issues if you go any bigger.

Hmm...

I would space the wheels out if I went for a 205 tyre, so clearance wouldnt be an issue...

I just thought if I went for a 205 I may get more grip?

Or with the 195/55/15 I could get more tread on the track with a lower tyre pressure...

how about taking a pair of wheels with you that have maxsport RB5's fitted.... nearly slick (but vaugely road legal) and will grip better than R888's if you get super soft compound.

oh and about half the price too

Youll be surprised how much room these bastids take up lol

You wont get any significant extra grip with an extra 10mm width.

Are RB5s actually road legal? They need to be if I want to run at TOTB etc...

i have two 195/50/15 and two 195/55/15, for drag racing i would go for the bigger profile.

I run 195/50/15 and they are excellent, dropped my 1/4 time by .2 of a second. One bit of advice is you need to get them nice and hot to get the most out of them.
