the rear axle on my nova 92 nova sri is biased towards the drivers side of the car, this makes my 195 50 15's scrub on the outer arch on the drivers side, and come very close to the inner arch on the passengers side. What i was wondering is if it is possilbe to shim the axle over a few mm's, i know that the rear axle is built to a tollerance, so i would hope that it would not mess the geomertry up, but could anyone tell me if this is possible or more importantly safe. I intend to put uprated rubber bushes in the rear beam mounting brackets so ive got to take it off anyway. Any help is appreciated (sorry for the long post)
cheers ollster

Will fitting 195 45 rubber not cure your problem?

I've got 195/45/15's on mine and never had a problem with scrubbage on the arches, had to use a sledgehammer on the inner arch though

Ive got the same (195 45 15), and I haven't made any arch mods. They never rub unless you go over a typical planet sized crater riden road with 4+ bloke in it. Im running a 92 (K) ,ages ago I had a 83 (A) saloon with same size wheels and tyres and they never ever rubbed.

i've got the same problem with my GTE.
im running 195/45/15 rubber.
The drivers side is very very tight to the arch, and the drivers side has loads of room. Thats with the arches cut back.
Im gonna try shimming the rear bushes soon.
