yeah its single point injection, does the tank just have to have a return?

Yeh it will be fine, just fit a MPi pump.
Injection tanks have a swirl pot to stop the engine dieing when you corner.

anyone?

Multi point injection pump, they work with 3 bar fuel pressure systems not the crappy 3 psi single point ones or what ever they do. The multipoint engines run higher fuel pressure.

Remove the pump thats in there.
Replace with mpi mk3 astra one

surely thats a property of the regulator and the pump is capable of pumping at a higher pressure?
it is not the pump that dictates the pressure a the injector/s

no but we are talking vauxhall fuel systems here. The spi fuel pump can not support or get high pressures regardless of fuel regulator that is fitted.

But yes the regulator is there to regulate the pressure if the pump is suitable.

what pressure can it support then?

Adam

The spi pump isn't capable of pumping against the 3bar pressure regulator on a mpi injection rail :)

Spi runs at about 0.8 bar

what happens when it tries?

Philsutton

the engine will tick over on one but when driving it will splutter an die, basically fuel starvation

Adam

what happens when it tries? It cant keep up with the fuel demands of the engine.

cool i got it now
