Im skint, fed up of seeing 'innsefficant funds' at the cashpoint! Was saving for a car on ebay, but dont have a garage, no way of getting it back, so watched it sell and went on a spending spree, including a proper piss up and clubbing it with my mates and putting a deposit on some sat nav, putting too much fuel in and eating too much, drinking too much, my own fault really, but yeah know the feeling

Sounds like a fairly good option to me! to top it all off tonite iv lost my fcukin car keys so thats gonna be a small fortune to replace!! Oh and the insufficiant funds... surley thy dnt have to put it that bluntly! canrt they jus say "sorry not tooday mate" or "dnt think thts a good idea with your balance" bas***ds!

I've currently got ?1850ish in the bank, but then most of that will disappear next month - bills, PVS, holiday, etc, and the remainder to take a nice chunk out my loan.

Also might need to spend ~?2k on a new clutch and gearbox, but I think I'm gonna whack that back on my loan if the need arises.

Just because the money is there NOW doesn't mean you can afford it. If it means you have to go without stuff for the rest of the month if you do buy it now, you should either accept the consequence of buying the item, or not buy the item.

Either way there is no point complaining. If you sacrifice nights out in favour of, for example, a bargain set of wheels on ebay, that's your decision. To then complain that you've got no money to last till pay day for nights out etc is just silly.

Of my wages, roughly 70% of it is the mortgage payment. Get a life.

ah yes. but i have two cats - and the wife is allergic to cats lollol so need something decent to make sure the house is free of their discarded fluff. They spend most of their time outside these days, which has helped.

Being self employed I get paid uber randomly, some months i have more money than I know what to do with (luckily the green one got built during one of these periods), other times I have feck all money at all (in one of these periods now lol)

Id rather get a monthly wage so I know where Im at, but id never go back to it tbh, i dont have to answer to anyone.

It doesnt help that toward the end of my teenage years I was very VERY irresponsible with money, and ran up a massive debt to the tune of around 35K. Im now on an IVA which means 450 squid dissappears every month for the next 3 and a hlaf years, and after that getting credit will be impossible, which is a good thing IMO.

same for me, minus the IVA...yet! Altho im presently at ?8k, altho im not really find it hard to repay it TBH.

Weekly pay is where its at! And cash in hand weekend work is always a bonus :thumb: My day rate (as a decorater) is ?80 per day, so working every other weekend helps quite a bit tbh.

i used to get weekly pay and i squandered that faster than monthtly as you get into the "ahhh feck it ill get more in 7 days" mindset and spunk ALL up the wall....

my budget skills are crap but as w00dy said, if you have money in the account you STILL CANT afford it if it means your funked for the rest of the month. I tend to treat myself at the end of the month when i know whats left lol

sweating their ass off inside? are you having a laugh - there is the fantastic brand new invention called air conditioning. It keeps the temperature cool in summer - and then in winter, central heating systems keep us office types cozy and warm.

This means that the hot office girls you stare at for 5 minutes while they pop to Boots for a meal-deal and some moisturiser work with us all day long - which is much better than bellowing obscenities at them from atop some scaffold.

Also - office workers are less likely to get skin cancer :thumb:
