DVLA normally has basic details on the car (number of previous owners etc). However DVLA say:

Vehicle details could not be found

for the above reg so, erm...... lol

you need some OLD SKOOL ykt

They're ok for what they're designed to do, but IMO the Mk4 is a girls car and somewhat lacking in the looks department

Can't comment on speed vs your Nova, although I'm sure both will manage to do 70mph. And even if yours was faster, his is less likely to break down, more comfortable, and probably worth more money.

i like mk4s :wtf:

can we tell your back novalad lol

Tell him his Polo won't rust and that he will be safer in a crash than your Nova. It doesn't matter what it can do top end, anyone can hang the **** out of 5th; but if he ever does get 105 out of it, you can bet it will be a bit more quiet than your Nova.

I had a polo a 1990 shape. And got to admit it was the best fun car ive ever had. And yes he will do more the 100mph as there nippy little things. Tell him to put mk1 golf gti wheels on and lower it 75 mm. The handaling was unreal but no matter how much fun i had in it,It was never a nova so had to go:D

NovaLad
31-05-07, 12:31 PM
Yer that's the main thing he went on about last night was the fast he had 1 more gear up from me lol

Dar
31-05-07, 12:39 PM
I have two more than you:D It matters not.
Your obviousy trying to wind each other up saying mines better than yours etc etc. Does it matter whats faster Slug A or Slug B? Not really.

NovaLad
31-05-07, 12:40 PM
Not really i sit back and wait for him to make comments then must retaliate lol ...

He is one of these guys that just try to wind people up.

Before he got this car he was telling me he was going to get a nova the same as me lol

Stick a Let and F28 in yours. Ultimate bragging rights :p.

Is that a new engine ??

How much would it cost me to get twin webers ?

wisewood
31-05-07, 01:57 PM
lol @ 105 in a 1 litre.

Lee
31-05-07, 02:00 PM
perfectly possible with modern engines and lying speedo's.

What you want to discuss with him are the 0 - rusty times. You will kick his ass into next week lol

NovaLad
31-05-07, 02:00 PM
What can they do ?

NovaLad
31-05-07, 02:01 PM
Wouldn't mine just be better anyway as it's a 1.2 and much lighter?

I'm not after racing him but obviously i wouldn't mind being able set of at some lights and leave him for a bit lol

wisewood

My 1.2 nova, under 30k miles on the clock, well maintained (until i got hold of it) showed 112 on the clocks once, down a long hill on the motorway.

A 1 litre ... i would say on an accurate measure would be 90-95mph maximum to be honest. Though the polo is a kinda bean shape, so more aerodynamic lol

Welsh Dan
31-05-07, 02:07 PM
Is that a new engine ??

Yes, C20LET = 2 litre 16 valve turbo engine, circa 200bhp.
F28 = 6 speed gearbox, suited to the C20LET.

Twin webbers would cost you ?150-700 for the carbs, ?50-150 for the manifold, ?3-500 for a good setup including any other anciliaries you'd need such as the alternator lowering bracket.

Turn off unexpectedly then.

Or let his tyres down.

Fact of the matter is, he will probably cane your behind, newer VW engines are way more efficient than an asthmatic 80's vauxhall lump lol.

NovaLad
31-05-07, 02:07 PM
lol ... The guy in the car is really skinny aswell which would make it lighter.

Would you liek to see a pic of it ?

Lee
31-05-07, 02:09 PM
Though the polo is a kinda bean shape, so more aerodynamic....

... and the engine is more modern. VW lumps have always punched above their weight anyway, much like the Ford CVH punched about 200cc under its weight LOL

NovaLad

Grr lol even when we had mopeds his was quicker.

And now he goes and gets a quicker car lol

He is one of these show offs that if his car does go faster than mine he will boast about it infront of everyone like a ****ty ****y bollock

draper

go tell his mum hes been swearing at you, she'll ground him and you can win the race ;)

lol no she will beat me up haha

Stuart

50bhp ina the polo vs your shafted 1.2 engine thats probably down to 45bhp lol

the weights will be marginal tbh... meh shouldnt race on the road... save it for pod.

NovaLad
31-05-07, 02:15 PM
My car has only done 44 thous miles ... i think his may have done double that

NovaLad
31-05-07, 02:16 PM
50bhp ina the polo --- 1.2 engine thats probably down to 45bhp lol

We are talking big numbers now then lol

wisewood
31-05-07, 02:16 PM
volkswagen engine though - so probably better condition after double the mileage lol

NovaLad
31-05-07, 02:18 PM
What's the cheapest way to make me go faster in a 1.2 without stripping it and without frowing it off a cliff draper lol

wisewood
31-05-07, 02:19 PM
Take the interior out :D

NovaLad
31-05-07, 02:19 PM
If it comes down to him only being a bit quicker at top end and me being more adgile on nifty on the streets then i aint too bothered because i won't risk killing my engine just to please him.

wisewood
31-05-07, 02:20 PM
Engine maximum Speed 91 mph - 148km/h
Engine acceleration 0-62mph 17.5secs
Maximum output PS55

So if thats for a 1.2 ... what the hell is the 1.0 gonna be running?

NovaLad
31-05-07, 02:20 PM
without stripping it lol

Take the interior out :D

lol

wisewood
31-05-07, 02:22 PM
lollol I thought you meant without stripping it for parts.

still - see previous post re spec of current vw 1.2 engine. his 1.0 will not be achieving 105 if a 1.2 only does 90

NovaLad
31-05-07, 02:24 PM
Ok then cheers...

I wouldn't be suprised if he notices mine is better and quicker then his mum and dad get him another car ...

He is a spoilt lil ****...

He gets everythign paid for.

AND JUST BECAUSE I CAN LOL HERE IS A PIC OF IT BTW IT NEEDS 4 NEW TYRES..*******

ROFLMAO thats one race I'd love to see on a track or up the strip... it'd be like wacky races in slow motion lol
