Shouldnt be too hard. You can do it quickest by dropping the bottom ball joint out of the steering knuckle, remove the knuckle from the strut/damper (2 19mm bolts) & then using long nose pliers (& some skill) get inside the joint & prise open the clip holding the shaft within the CV joint, slide the shaft out the joint & replace the boot & stick in a little new CV grease,
clip the shaft back in the joint, put a new clip on the boot & refit all parts.
Check bolts are nice & tight. CV grease is the filthiest stuff on a car, have plenty of rags & rubber gloves at the ready.
Forgot to say its at the strut end, not gearbox end.

Easy peasy.
I did one in half an hour, and at the time, i had never attempted anything like that ever before.
Real easy!

you can get CV boots that stretch over the joint so no need to remove the CV Joint
no but you can get wrap around ones that you need to bond the joint etc.
its minial maf to pull the joint though
;) Its easy for most people.
