Just a small update to begin with. I know its been a long time, but I've been very busy with the car, this is what I've been upto lately: I've managed to sort all the wiring out and whilst checking the engine loom I had noticed to 2 earths that went to the fuel rail had completely snapped off so I have also fixed these, I also noticed that one of the wires on the amaul valve had completed snapped off on that, so that has all been soldered back. anyway thats all sorted now. I've also put on 4 new CV boots, all the old ones were split, also put on 2 bottom ball joints as the boots on these had also been split. I've found some replacement seats and fitted these, and tidied the wiring up behind the clocks, the suspension has been fitted with new AVO coilovers, the wings have been re-fitted and I've also made new brackets for the FMIC, this is where I am currently up to. Today the car went off to JP at Macclesfield to have the exhaust made, I'll hopefully get it back next week to carry on with the re-build.http://img110.imageshack.us/img110/1156/turbonova022va1.th.jpg (http://img110.imageshack.us/my.php?image=turbonova022va1.jpg)http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/1552/turbonova021si8.th.jpg (http://img525.imageshack.us/my.php?image=turbonova021si8.jpg)http://img110.imageshack.us/img110/3866/turbonova020ax6.th.jpg (http://img110.imageshack.us/my.php?image=turbonova020ax6.jpg)http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/6698/turbonova023mf8.th.jpg (http://img78.imageshack.us/my.php?image=turbonova023mf8.jpg)

It is absolutely mint. But it doesnt take alot for a bubble to start on an arch. Think once it starts its best to chop it all out and replace!
the impression i got was that even the arches were good
looks very nice. will look forward to see this flying around stockport when its sorted.
If you've got the skill/tools to replace the arches, then you might as well, even if there in good condition.
It definently looks quite mint, judging by the inner arch condition etc.

Forgive my ignorance.
But whats base coat? Primer type stuff? and clear coat? Is that laquer?
Re: Cellulose. I bought 4litres the other day..
Cheers!

24-07-07, 07:07 PM
Base coat is the actual colour - metalic, solid etc
Clear coat is the laquer - required to seal the base coat and provide the shine !!!!
Cars looking good again Dave
Only wished I worked as fast as you do on your nova - If your interested in nova bodywork - my nova project needs some !!!

25-07-07, 06:53 PM
Cheers for that.
I've never enquired about 2pack becuase you need an air fed mask for it really I thought. Always stuck to cellulose because the fumes are slightly more friendly to the lungs, but the 2pack's deffo the way to go really for long lasting paint a sweet finish as the pics show.
Would it be alright with a half decent non air-fed mask?
Looking very well indeed ! :thumb:

Gives the rear coilover enough space within the arch/wheel/tyre gap. Also you can choose the vertical position of the top mount of the shock, so the extremes of ride height are your own choice.

2" = 50mm ?
Jeez that will be slammed
craig green
10-11-07, 09:54 PM
Yeah I wont be going that low unless maybe static at shows.
Infact the platforms are at half height in that pic. I've never played with them.
It just means I have the choice to & obviously it still has the travel in the coilover. The main issue is how much clearance the wheels have in the wheel house.
