i was driving up the road this afternoon when my rear wheel cylinder popped!! resulting in no rear brakes and going up the kerb to miss an oncomming car:roll:

now i've had the shoes cylinders, drum, cable and adjusters replaced 3 months ago to get it through the mot and the shoes have gone down to bear metal and scored the drums as well as the cylinder popping due to the shoes being over adjusted...are the garage liable for the repair costs?

suppose it depends on what mileage you've done, you would certainly have a case against the manufacturer of the parts i should think.

If it was all fitted by a garage & receipts are still available for presentation. Yes you have comeback I should think.

Theres often a stipulation that any parts carry 12 months warranty etc

12 months manufacturers warranty is a statutory right anyway.

sounds like they didnt fit new ones, was it the same garage that did it?, did you see them fit them?, i had the same froblem with my G.F car they didnt fit new ones and passed it through the mot.

a year later when it came to the mot it failed on the same thing when she had only done no more than 1K miles (slowly). Get the garage to write a report of some sort saying the condition of the brakes as hard proof and confront them, if they are still being idiots tell anybody and everybody that that garage is ****
