Head Advice For 1.4 Sri

looking for advise again guys , hopefully within the next few hrs , as want to get engine built back up, any way needed to replace my head was totally gone so got one today the exact same but the head is a 1.6! will this be ok? going on to a 1.4 block+cams?

if your engine is a c14se and your putting a 1.6 head on you will make it slower because you will lower the compression ratio, stick with the 14se head and swap the valves over if thats whats needed.

not sure what you mean mate my 1.4 head is warped and no use been skimmed twice and thats why i went to get another one

You need a 1400 head.
1600 one is of no use, it will fit and work but you'll see a big drop in compression.

get another 1.4 head for it then!!!!

I dont have one spare.

You could get one off a corsa 8v sri, or mk3 astra too, as they had the same engines in some models.

how much was taken off the head with the other 2 skims it might still be ok for another

Or get a 1600 head skimmed enough to get it back to 1400 compression level.

Around 15thou iirc.

Theres plenty in scrappies.
I saw about 4/5 in the local scrappy the other day.

On Corsa sri's, mk3 astra gls's etc. The chances of finding one off a nova sri are slim.

what if i put on the 1.6 in the mean time to i can get the proper head or is this point less?

Would need new head gasket/bolts
Just fit the right one in the first place.
