Vauxhall Nova Road, Rally, Track Day, Race, Sprint or Hillclimb Car
A very nicely prepared and maintained Vauxhall Nova 1300cc road/race/rally/track day or road car with 12 months MoT. It has lots of nice bits fitted, many of which have seen little use. Please see full specification below.
This car has many road rally and autotest wins to its credit. It has also been used for occasional hillclimbs and sprints.
A fantastic starter car in very tidy condition, with loads of potential; inexpensive to run, quick and fun to drive, with plentiful parts availability for future upgrades.
I have the V5 log book and the car has just had a 12 months MoT Certificate issued. The MoT tester commented on how solid the car is underneath, which makes a change for a Nova! This was originally an SR model.
It has a full 'Safety Devices' bolt in roll cage, a quick modified 1300cc engine (92bhp at the flywheel), JANSPEED tubular exhaust manifold and large bore exhaust, and has 15" OZ RACING wheels with large uprated front brakes, plus a wheel stud and nut conversion.
The suspension is by proper competition BILSTEIN tarmac dampers and matched springs, which are almost new. It has strengthened track control arms, poly bushes all round and competition engine mounts.
The conversion to a stage rally car would be very simple (just replace seats/belts/fire extinguisher for an MSA logbook).

Shell; Finished in silver paintwork. Non-sunroof. Seam welded engine bay. SAFETY DEVICES bolt-in roll cage with door bars. Front strut brace. GTE front bumper. Bonnet fitted with genuine Astra GSi vents (functional, not stick-on). Bonnet pins. Heavy duty large alloy Group A sumpguard. Polyurethane mudflaps. Harry Hockly (HHMS) competition engine mountings.
Interior; OMP 2 spoke deep dish suede steering wheel. SPARCO JUNIOR drivers seat, CORBEAU FORZA co-drivers seat. 4 point aircraft buckle WILLANS race harnesses x 2. Alloy gearknob. Alloy door panels with alloy handles. Push button starter and aircraft flip-ignition switch. Special connector for Potti. Fire extinguisher. Rear seats, carpet, door trims and headlining retained to comply with Road Rally regulations.
Engine; Lightened and balanced bottom end by Brian Wills
Blydenstein B+ head with bronze valve guides
Single Weber 32/34 carb with ITG foam air filter (road rally legal)
Pipercross crankcase breather
Power output last tested at 92bhp at the flywheel
Gearbox; Close ratio Nova GSi gearbox. NOTE: The current gearbox fitted is whining, but an excellent low miles identical gearbox will be supplied with the car, ready for fitting.
Fuel/Exhaust; Full large bore SPORTEX race/rally exhaust system fitted. JANSPEED 4 into 1 tubular exhaust manifold with heat-wrap insulation. Fibreglass fuel tank guard.
Suspension/Steering; BILSTEIN CUP front and rear dampers with matched springs. Strengthened track control arms. QUAIFE quick steering rack. Lowered tie bars. Polyurethane bushes throughout, including steering rack mountings and poly bump stops. Front and rear anti-roll bars
Brakes; large ventilated front discs (256mm) with ATE calipers and EBC uprated brake pads. All brake and fuel pipes are run internally through the car, Goodridge Aeroquip braided stainless steel brake flexis and fuel lines.
Wheels/Tyres; 15" x 6" OZ RACING alloys in white with good road tyres. Group A wheel stud and nut conversion.
Other; Windscreen Washers on the wiper arms
