I've been asked by my grandparents to get them a new car for about 1k - ?1300 ...

For the last few years he's been driving around in my old corsa sport 1400 lol but as my nan's gettin a little older they wasnt to sell up and get somthing a little bigger with 4 doors. Little brothers have taken over the front passenger seat so nan's been forced to the back lol.

Anyways, I'm stuck on that to look for. And if anybody says Nova 5 door the responce will be
"eat **** and die" :D

I've been looking at BMW 318 vectra's astras etc just wondering if anybody else has any suggestions...

Get your butt on eBay and have a gander at some of the cars on there. Its always good for a bit of inspuration.

I reckon a Volvo would be good, You can crash them things and its perfectly safe so would keep the old's in good condition if they were ever involved in a accident (not saying they are going to crash because they are old or anything you understand, its just that volvos are a decent car to be in when it all goes tits up).

BMW, then teach 'em to drift lol. What about (ghay) french cars, good saftey ratings, very comfy, cheap - Laguna, 406? or maybe a numpty wagon/MPV style.

Alot of oldies like jap cars as well, accord, civic, R32, 200sx...

200SX and R32 are only 2dr. Plus the latter is b*stard to maintain.

Renault Meganes are an undesirable bargain! Little 1.4's & 1.6's.

Girl I work with got a 1 owner 1.9D on an 02 plate for ?950

only put 'em in for a joke, but R32 (http://www.skylinegts.co.uk/NigelE.htm)'s do come in 4dr

I would go for a late Mk3 golf/Vento, either in 1600 or a TD flavour. They are good in terms of leg room in the back and there is a lot of space when getting in and out of the back doors. Astras aren't bad, I just think a Golf might be a better buy as it is more solid, safer and easier to get in and out of.

Im with Dannyb on this one, an old VW is the thinking mans choice. Built like brick sheds, reliable as anything, and good quality MK3 base cars are uber cheap now.

A 2.0 GL vento would be perfect!

Toyota Corolla. No old person should be without one.
