hi all,

my nova gsi has broke down again last night

Was driving home and noticed a bit of smoke coming from the exhaust, so i pulled it over checked levels etc everything fine.

opened the oil cap to find a bit of smoke coming out (normal?)

so i started it up again and it was firing on three, and was smoking its **** off, i was only a min from home so i drove it home, stayed on three, no power and smoking.

any ideas?

possibly head gasket ?? also sounds like you lost compression on 1 of the cylinders

head gasket 99 % sure mine went on my gsi again the other week with no warning what so ever blew through 3rd and 4th cylinder was perfectly fine when to pull away and pop straight to 3 cylinders and smoking like a biach

if you want it doing i can do for you very cheaply

chill out Tim. Theres usually a reason why Hgs go. Age or a fuelling/ignition issue which isnt too likely on a N/A engine.

If you are really cautious I would recommend the injectors are cleaned but the main thing to ensure is that the coolant has plenty of anti-freeze in it as this is a corrosion inhibitor.
