whats the differenc ebetween the 2 engines ie.the 1 from the k reg with the electronic igniton and the cat apart from this is 1 better than the other and is either 1 more powerful??should all k reg gsi's come with the newer lump or did some comwith the earlier engine????

i think all k-reg gsis came with the multec injection and a cat, its some j-reg gsis that came with the jetronic system.
just get the k-reg with multec, use a gte exhaust (no cat), and get a k+n, itl sound and drive much better!!

Some GSI's use Dis pack and apparently they are harder to tune but i cud be wrong. Rick

some k reg gsi's didn't came with multec and no cat (rob_spider had a k reg gsi with multec)

i think the break point is when the black plated later K reg cars were released

As far as i know, the official figures from Vauxhall are 100 bhp for both engines.

According to bill blydenstein the gte is the better engine to tune

I have a 1.6 gsi thats a k reg and it has no cat and no disspac
