View Full Version : electric windows and central locking
thinking of buying a electric window kit and a central locking kit off a good friend by the name of draper lol, but ive got afew things that are boggling me,
1) how would i feed the wired from the doors to the battery and switches
2) how hard are they to fit?
3) are the electrics easy?
4) how would i go about removing the window wingders
5) how much are both kits usually worth?
cheers all
dave
right then, the looms are easy to fit - ill start off with the central locking, all you have to do is
a) connect these to wires up, red = perm live
black = earth

then its a case of running the wires behind the dash and into the doors, in the doors you mount these motors

easy peasy
leccy windows are just as easy, you mountthe switches in th ecentre console, then run the 2 'legs' of the loom under the carpets and into the doors, these 2 wires reach the fuse box and again need connecting,
red = switched live (only live while te ignition is on)
black = earth

then its just mounting the motors in the door
shut it biatch - its OEM

Don't look like it !!
The origional stuff just plugs in to the fuse box, think theres a couple of earths that need screwed down, all the rest of it just plugs in to the cl motors & window motors, drilling the holes in the doors & A pillars is a ball ache !!
Have fun !!
Don't look like it !!
Yeah, I thought that the CL motors looked different from the ones in my SR, very Maplins IMO

Nowt wrong with Maplins lol saved my bacon a few times lol lol lol
The elec window loom plugs into the fuse box, altho you could easily adapt that loom to make it plug in :thumb:
I found that when i plugged mine into the Fusebox.... there was no connection behind !
So i had to chop the connectors and used the same perm/Ignition live as the stereo.
