i saw a picture of a nova with a 2.0 16v engine and r1 carbs to the left hand side you can see an empty lucozade bottle with a black pipe or tube going into it,

my Q is what is the purpose of this?

Yep, sounds like a Oil Catch tank...

Just Catches any oily residue that gets passed through the breathing system. I ran an Evian bottle for a while, and finally had a nice tank made up.

yeh i used a sprite bottle, now iv got one from an xr2 which is like a catch and filter in one, small but good lol
