when putting cavalier callipers and discs on my nova do i have to get different brake hoses or will my ones do. currently lookin for cavalier brakes. what ones will do

no mate , your will be fine , but if you wanted to upgrade them some braided hoses would be worth it :thumb:

yea, be worth putting braided hoses on when you change them, if your old hoses are damaged then the added pressure of bigger brakes could tare them! plus you might aswel change them when you change the brakes, save bleading them twice!
an uprated servo wouldent hurt either!

see it was a 1 litre. i have a 1.2 in it now. i know its **** but the original brakes are useless. what type of servo could i get . where would i get braided hoses and which ones will i get . thanks

I think GTE's and GSi's have bigger servos. Look at Goodridge braided hoses, RallyDesign do them for ?40ish.

halfords surprisingly do good hoses, not too dear either! just put 2.0l cavelier brakes on mine a few days ago and they are amazing, the old ones would be crap stopping a pram let alone a nova!

iirc the servo size doesnt matter, its the size of the valve-thingy that counts and there all nearly the same across the nova range

correct the servo only makes it easier for you to do the same work.... same as power steering, ti wont make you turn any faster but it does take some load off your arms

any 1.8/2.ol astra cavalier or calibra will have 256mm brake set up.

yes but some will only be 20mm and some will be 24mm thick

the 20mm one are also found on corsa gsi's

where as the 24mm are found on mk2 astra gte/mk3 cav sri , gsi/mk3 astra gsi calibra 2.0 16v etc

generaly the 8v cars have the 20mm setup apart from the 16v corsa which also has the 20mm as said ^^
