they will fit but youd be better of with 195/45/15 if you dont want scrubbage on the rear :thumb:

if your arches are still std they will rub , you still might get a little scrubbage with 45's aswell but it wont be too bad , unless you have people in the back

195/50/ will scrub, even with rolled arches my 195/45 scrub a littl eon big bumps, so youd be fo0ked with 50's on!

45 and 50 is the side wall hight so can see how 45 will not rub and 50s will iff the rub on the outer arch.

if you when from 195 to 205 then ur going wider then they will rub?

i think 45s look to thin and much perfer the look of 50s.

I have a late 93 model, i have got 17's on mine also and the as long as your arches are rolled i did not need to widen. But that is late model though.

My last gsi had 45s on and lowered 30mm and that rubbed.

Manufacturing tolerances, how much "give" in the rear beam etc.

I have 195/45 tyres on 15" ET49 rims(perfect rim for a nova), and the cars lowered 60mm, it occasionally rubs the outer arch lip(std arches) if theres a few people in the back(2)
It only rubs on one side too.

Altho i drove 70mile home on the motorway with a 1600 engine in the back and they were fine then,Lol.

I'd guess with 50's, it would rub a Lot more. 50s make the wheels look smaller too.

even on the same car if 45 dont rub then 50s wont rub as ur make the tyre taller not wider.

i can under stand going from 195 to 205 as thats the with of the tyre.

A larger side wall make the tyre rub, as the tyre is physically taller(so it can rub the top of the inner/outer arch easier)

the diffrence in size between 45 and 50 is not that much its only when it gets close to full suspention travel it poss it would rub from what i can see.

it would be a extra 5%(10.25mm) of the width of the tyre (195mm)

so thats a lot when the car is lowered 60mm already so it will rub
