i served my time in MOT stations and was always led to believe that if a car has no side repeater holes in the wing it passes, but if it has repeaters that dont work or has holes where they should be it fails.
i have spoke to a few testers recently and they all have a different opinions on this, some say if it was built after '86 it should have them and will fail without them.
anyone out there know for sure wot is legal and wot isnt?
cheers.

yup i discussed with sum testers and basicaly after 86 you must have them unless your frond and rear indicator lenses have the proper code
i found that genuine vuaxhall lights had one code
all the pattern part indicators i checked had another (there like E3 or sumthing, cant rember now)
but i never found any with the right E code
im told novas in spain dont have the repeaters so they would have the correct E code
to be honest its all a load of bollocks and i just slipped the tester a few quid to pass mine
