If you posted it off to the DVLA then give them a ring and see if they got it!

Personally, i'd never buy/sell a car with no V5, but to get a peplacement V5 it'll cost you about ?19!

If you know him it should be OK [should!] You send off a V52 form application for logbook V5c and the DVLA will contact the previous owner to ask if they sold it to you.

Give it a go :D

like the guys say you need to get a v52 and fill in all the details and send ?19 also to the dvla who will then send out a replacment , theres a few boxes to tick asking why you dont have it , but it easy to fill in , then get new log book in about 2 weeks easy!

Right a fair bit of mis information going on here...

A. The fee for aplying for a logbook has gone upto ?25.

B. Its a V62 you need to fill in to apply for the logbook.

If you have the new keepers supplement also known as the V5/2 then you will be able to get a free logbook if you send this off with the V62 form and tick the box.

If your car is a CAT D it DOES NOT need a Vic only SOME CAT C cars need a VIC not even all of the C's do. No CAT D needs a VIC you just need to pay the ?25 and apply for the V5. If you do need a VIC check then you also can claim a free logbook.

And you can ring the DVLA Option 4 to check to see if there is required VIC marker against your reg.

Also another point, its not illegal to buy a car without a logbook, there is a section on the V62 that states reason for applying, Previous keeper never had V5 to pass on etc, also all the auction house's in the country selling cars without logbooks would be breaking the law and they dont!

Mine DOES require a VIC lol and a syll panel as the current is erm, a bit bendy lol hahahahaa

Never really looked into a VIC check for it, as it was only a winter hack anyway lol

If your car requires a VIC it is a CAT C 110%.

And the fee is now ?25 i had a application returned yesterday for inssuicent funds as i sent ?19.

Im not arguing, i dont really care if it needs one, as im not taking anyway! Once im done with it itll be the new owners problem lol
