fit two light buckets in the front, perspex or polycarb windows, fiberglass bonnet, fiberglass bootlid. some lightweight alloys and remove as much else as u dare. ipersonally went the whole hog and did away with the rear seats and belts too

best bets, cut the insids of your doors out, fit perspex, etc as stv-b16a said. theres loads, some people take the bumper bars out and fit pins to hold them instead.
also you could take all interior out, (except back seats) including roof lineing, the less wieght higher up the better, the car will be better to handle.
theres loads you can do

and they really are lightweights. a stripped nova with decent springs, shocks and tyres can give a lot of so-called faster cars a run for there money on the twisty stuff. and even a 1.3 has a good power to weight ratio wen stripped or not even and thats with a standard motor

Remove all interior trim apart from 2 (bucket) seats, the rear bench and obviously seat belts. Get rid of all sound deadening too (that red stuff on the floor weighs a bit!).

Then there's fibreglass panels (bonnet/tailgate/wings if you can find some) as well as what's just been mentioned.

just take the back seats out, if your going to start stripping it be as well going the whole hog:) tidy it up by taking out the rear seat mounts etc!
