I think someone on here said they got their brakes bled but done using pressure, how is this done? Is it more effective and is it a specialist sort of thing or do many garages use it? I'm sick of the two person efforts which probably work out more expensive in my time than paying someone who knows how to do it properly!!

You can do it yourself with a Gunsons Eezibleed kit(?15 from halfords)
It basically uses air pressure(10 psi from car tyre) to pressurise the master cylinder.
So once you open the bleed nipply it forces air out.

So you can bleed the entire system in about 2mins, without even touching the brake pedal :)

Altho ive never had a problem bleeding brakes using any method.
Are your brakes still poor after bleeding???

Yes, they seem to go softer a few days after bleeding but stay at that level without getting softer, could there be any other part of the braking system that needs adjustment/replacing such as a linkage between pedal and master cylinder? They are GSi calipers btw.

could be faulty servo or master cylinder.or an airlock if it is then a pressure bleed kit should cure it.

pressure bleeding is the dogs danglies. should be one of the first tools you buy imho. I used to lath touching the brake fluid circuits then got introduced to pressure bleeding and its no biggie now :D

put my new callipers on the front of my nova the other day, i was on y own, just opened the blead nipple and let the air come through by itself, then once fluid was coming through i closed it and it was solid as a rock!!!

Lol..
If you use it make sure you get a good seal on the master cylinder, as if you dont and you pressurise the system, it shoots brake fluid everywhere, speaking from experience lol

Common mistake is using the spare wheel that still has approx 30psi in it!!
