i have a set of 14 and 15s what ones would be better to use as track alloys was thinking 14s as will be lighter smaller so faster accelration better handleing. but 15s would be able to run biger tyres so more grip.

also would steels be better than allys as lighter and stronger and more sleeper looking.

Youll struggle finding any decent track tyres at a reasonable price for a 14 inch rim due to demand, so that counts them out completely IMO

Agree, the lighter the wheel the better, but theres a lot lighter than a steel, plus you will be restricted on availiable width. Id go fo a compomotive or TSW wheell, ive found them to be lighter than most. Dar's using a Corsa C alloy ATM, we were quite surprised how light they are as well!

can get 185-55-14 dunlop dz02gs for ?120
or
195-50-15 dunlop dz02gs for ?129
also othere tryes like r888 and a048rs in the same sizes and all about ?10 diffrence in price between 14 and 15s.

185-55-14 and 195-50-15 must be about the same rolling radius.
so prob not much diffrence in performance between the 2.

getting hold of 888's at the moment will be tricky unless they have them in stock since every man and his dog wants them for the upcoming season.

even the big suppliers are having trouble getting 888's in stock at the moment. unless you can blag a set off a rally team etc as they get preferential supply this time of year
