as i havementioned before, my 1.3L runs fine for a while but when i accelerate anything more than steadily the engine stops. Also does it more often than not going up hill...
Also, there is a ticking noise coming from the clocks in the dash sometimes.

With all the posts about earthing problems i was wondering if this could be the probelm with mine as i have changed the dizzy, coil, leads, plugs and fuel pump...

If it is/could be the earth, how do i check it and where do i look?

Any help much appreciated as its taking me ages and ages to get to work and i am often late... which isn't good as this means i have to get up even earlier in the morning.

Your still having trouble with this-what a pain in the arse eh! It could be a fueling prob, you changed the pump but did you change the fuel filter? They are only a about a fiver (my mk2 one was anyway). It might be worth a try, but you dont want to go down that route of slowly replacing everything in the car and not solving the prob. This can be v expensive and time consuming, sometimes its just best to take it to a reputable local garage and let them sort it. It will prob turn out to be something poxy that can be easily fixed, and will prob be cheaper in the long run. ;)

The filter on my mk-2 is under the car below where the fuel cap is. It looks like a little aerosol can that has tube coming out of each end. 5 min job, just clamp the fuel pipes leading into and out of the filter then pull the tubes off, remove old filter and plug tubes on the end of the new filter-piece of piss. ;)
