Bad time at the ring

Just got back from the ring, and not a happy bunny.

First lap out on the track and half way round my ?600 custom made stainless exhaust system broke off where the centre pipe meet the back box causing it to fly off and get squashed by the car behind.

Got the back box back from the marshalls with a flattened tail pipe and dented silencer box.

Next morning took it to the local exhaust centre to see if there was anything they could do to get me home, they cut off the squashed part of the tailpipe and welded the back box back on.

Anyway thought all was well until i discovered that the becasue the tailipe now came out behind the bumper the heat had melted the bumper and the grey valance.

Iam so pissed off, 4 days ago my car was concourse!!! The exhaust had only covered 1500 dry miles since it was installed and that included driving to germany.

Does any one know if you can still get ta genuine gte rear bumper and valance?

thats exactly what iam gonna do tomorrow, just worried about getting a new rear bumper and skirt, these were brand new when the car was repainted so iam gutted

Paul, if you don't have any luck at vauxhall try thesr guy's, based in germany, but they have good range of stock, ( speak english too)

im planning (dreaming more like) of building a nova to half the spec/kudos of urs and indeed when time is right enjoying a lil blip round nurburg, its the must have go thing to do,.. must be such a disapointment for you, bet youve been getting prepared/looking forward to it for ages.

bugger did have a brand new bagged gte rear splitter, sold it to gdnv on migweb.co.uk track him down might still have it?

Theres usually a seller or 2 on ebay with brand new GTE bumpers & what not.
You know these panel suppliers & stuff? I saw a load of em a few months back.

I have a new rear bumper but its prov sold to keith, if he is willing to pass on it then its available, genuine vauxhall new in the bag

I would be adding the whole cost of the ordeal up with costs of repairs eg: exhaust, bumper + painting, recovery costs etc etc
